up huge pieces 00:00:26.519 of I'm not sure if it was granite or 00:00:27.920 what it was but they would take this 00:00:29.240 rock and they would just pound and pound 00:00:31.720 and as you got closer and closer you 00:00:33.200 could just hear the pounding on the left 00:00:35.360 and on the right and and echoing and 00:00:37.200 they were taking this rock big rock and 00:00:39.120 they were making into little stones and 00:00:41.399 so Andrew and I we were together the 00:00:43.640 first day because the team had yet to 00:00:45.160 arrive we had come ahead of them and as 00:00:48.719 we were walking up they just we just 00:00:51.160 greeted them and they greeted us so we 00:00:52.800 walked over and we found a person who 00:00:55.280 spoke enough English her name was Gloria 00:00:57.480 and we got to draw the gospel and many 00:00:59.559 of them really were True Believers uh 00:01:02.000 but here they were every day just 00:01:03.800 working at breaking up Rock and I asked 00:01:05.799 them so so how much do you make like uh 00:01:08.280 how does this work like is there a 00:01:09.720 foreman who like watches over you says 00:01:11.960 no no we we're just out here every day 00:01:14.600 they bring the rock we break it up and 00:01:16.759 they take these five gallon the yellow 00:01:19.439 water um the water the large watering 00:01:22.159 cans you know they cut them at the top 00:01:24.360 and they fill them up with Rock and for 00:01:26.360 each one of those they get 500 Shillings 00:01:30.960 and out of a day they said they can do 00:01:32.600 about 10 so that's about 5,000 Shillings 00:01:36.479 and that's about 00:01:38.159 $3 that's what they do every day and it 00:01:41.320 was just so humbling to see these people 00:01:44.159 um almost joyful just doing their work 00:01:46.759 doing the best they could with what they 00:01:48.360 had um and just trying to provide for 00:01:50.840 their family um they had they had kids 00:01:53.640 there with them um women with the kids 00:01:55.880 and the their husbands were were there 00:01:57.880 some of their kids were breaking Rock 00:01:59.680 and so anyhow Andrew and I got to share 00:02:01.560 the gospel and we just decided to start 00:02:03.880 going back and every day we went back um 00:02:06.479 we were able to tell them more stories 00:02:08.080 about Jesus and we got to tell them 00:02:09.758 about the Great Commission and tell them 00:02:11.480 that they were called to be a part of 00:02:12.720 the Great Commission and that though 00:02:14.319 they were here at this place doing this 00:02:17.920 that you know seemed maybe unimportant 00:02:19.879 it wasn't unimportant to God because all 00:02:22.360 over in all these other piles of rock 00:02:25.160 where people were pounding there were 00:02:26.440 many people there that didn't know even 00:02:29.200 who Jesus was does I said God has called 00:02:31.519 you to be an ambassador for him all over 00:02:34.319 00:02:42.480 we do at the actual Church site and they 00:02:44.879 would laugh and they loved getting into 00:02:47.000 the word they loved talking about the 00:02:48.440 word and we at the end of the week we we 00:02:51.519 started to get a translator to come and 00:02:53.040 help us in the evening from one of the 00:02:54.720 sites his name was Francis and Francis 00:02:56.840 you know just went the extra mile came 00:02:58.680 back with us and we shared about um the 00:03:01.360 hope that we have in Jesus the calling 00:03:03.239 that we have in Jesus the dignity we 00:03:04.959 have in and bring 00:03:30.920 the good news to Jesus and anyhow then 00:03:33.120 the last day we got to bring a Bible to 00:03:36.200 them and they were so excited to have a 00:03:38.360 Bible bibles are very scarce here 00:03:40.239 they're very expensive and uh we could 00:03:42.959 see right away that two people 00:03:44.480 especially Gloria and her friend were 00:03:46.360 like the leaders of this little tribe 00:03:48.239 here of people and so we we took them to 00:03:50.680 the side and we told them that would 00:03:52.319 they like to learn how to actually run 00:03:54.680 like a house group here a house group 00:03:56.959 where they could get into scripture they 00:03:58.239 can pray together they could worship 00:03:59.959 together they could learn together they 00:04:01.159 could go out together and they were like 00:04:03.040 yes yes and so we taught them on the 00:04:05.319 last day how to have a simple time 00:04:07.480 together around the word and listen for 00:04:09.519 the Lord obey him in anything that he 00:04:12.079 said and go and be a disciple that makes 00:04:14.120 a disciple and let all of you g to know 00:04:16.478 about the love of Christ and they were 00:04:18.440 so excited to have this mission in fact 00:04:20.560 Gloria when we were walking back with 00:04:22.240 Francis she said this is pretty amazing 00:04:24.919 I had been praying weeks ago that God 00:04:27.960 would use me that he would really give 00:04:30.280 me um leadership to do something for him 00:04:33.240 and then you guys come and you pick me 00:04:36.240 and you give me a Bible and you train me 00:04:38.520 she said I just can't believe what's 00:04:39.840 happening she was so excited and so that 00:04:41.960 just made our hearts so happy to hear 00:04:43.919 that we had been an answer to a prayer 00:04:45.759 that she had that she wanted to be used 00:04:47.560 by God but didn't know how and she 00:04:49.560 didn't even have a Bible and so it was 00:04:51.479 really really just the Highlight was 00:04:53.080 being down there every day sharing with 00:04:54.639 them even after we came back from the 00:04:56.360 sights uh it was just such a joyous time
